Assalamualaikum wbt

It is 29th dec today and 1.1.2012 is around the corner. Whats a new year without new resolutions? But have i fulfilled my 2011's resolutions? Honestly at this point, today; i can barely remember what they are.. not good huh? Well, i guess it is prolly bout me being a hardworking postgraduate student in Otago. So have i been a hardworking post graduate student? I'd say yes and no :)

2012 - Clinic will commence on the last week of feb (thats nice), winter (loathe!) in the middle of the year, then Hari Raya (if only balik Malaysia) and exam again (not so keen :p)! Khalish will be 6 and Umar will turn 1 :D My handsome boys! I pray for a good year, wait make that a great year. I've decided to stop my ridiculous cray cray towards handbags or at least try to LOL (i smell a ditch!). As for now, 2011 is the year where i bought too much bags LOL Ok lets revise a bit here

2005 - Bought my first Coach (this was the year i started working)

2007 - 2 bags i think (one was an Ergo)

2008 - Bought a Gaucho and a Muse

2009 - Bought a Heloise and a Histoire

2010 - A Fendi Spy << Very very impressive year!

Aaah, yes other bags with me are presents or didnt come from my earned cash hehe. And if En Tahir is reading and feel like buying me a bag - fell free to do so! I just wanna stop buying them not stop having them! *wink*

That is my number one resolution! *tabik* Number 2 is to really really use my time accordingly. Correctly divide my school and home chores, playing all roles as dentist/student, wife/mom and daughter/sister wisely :) InsyaAllah! Number 3 is to spend more time on the prayer mat and with my Quran (and trying to pick up the meanings).

Usually if theres a contest, only the first 3 winners will be announced, the rest just dont really worth an announcement (?) hahah. So yeaa i will keep the rest to myself :) Thank you!

2011 has been a really roller coaster ride for me, ho yeaa. Believe me you!!

January - moved to Dunedin, New Zealand with a baby in my tummy, our flight was tiring (capital T) - 3 transits and 1 missed flight!

July - Gave birth to my Kiwi Umar :)

August - Ramadhan, my brothers came for a visit, flew to Wellington for Umar's Emergency Travel Document and celebrated Khalish's 5th birthday at a Thai restaurant there. Supposedly, my parents datang with my brothers but they postponed their flights due to my late granpa being really ill due to lung cancer :( So instead of they come to me, my mum sponsored our tickets back home and lagipun she so wants to see her new grandson. The day was 20th aug, we were in Wellington for 2nights and got back in Dunedin for 8hours just enough time for us to pack our bags, then flew to Christchurch to catch our flight back home to Malaysia (Umar was not merely a month!). We were in Malaysia for 5weeks, i got to see my Ki and presented my newborn to him, celebrated Hari Raya with family and friends, got to attend my brother's wedding (the wedding was prepared right after i moved to Dunedin and i thought i wont be able to attend my first brother's big day), and witnessed my late grandfather's last day :(( The day he passed away was the day my brother got married (there were only us the siblings and mom during his solemnization), everybody else went to Ki's funeral.

September - Flew back to Dunedin and commence schooling the last week of the month. Khalish started his days as a first grader at Arthur St School.

November - EXAM!!!! And Research Protocol Presentation.

December - Visitors from Malaysia - my parents and youngest brother and then my gal, Yanie :) We went to Te Anau, Milford Sound, Queenstown, Catlins, Twizel, Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo and Timaru. In Dunedin, we went to the Peninsular and visited Larnach Castle; and St Clair Beach. On Boxing Day, we flew to Auckland for some retail therapy :)

fuuuuuhhh!!! Told you its wild year :p

And whats a better way to end a year than a photo summary of it! hehe :) Enjoy and Happy New Year!!

Yesterday was the twelfth of december and (fyi tuan-tuan dan puan-puan) was my second wedding anniversary with En Mutahir Mohd Ariff *cloud9*

Alhamdulillah, syukur. I praise Allah for his blessings. I've seen this and i've seen that, i've been here and i've been there. I won some and i did lose some, i was untouchable and i (multiple times) hit rock bottom. But i would not change anything.. nothing. If any part of my story would've been different, i would not be here... next to you. And if any part of my journey to here is different, things would not be as beautiful... as lovely. You're not perfect, but neither am i. You're not rocket scientist, well who's looking for one? You smell funny, you have tongue lisping, you yawn to my face... but you never fail to be the first one up every morning, preparing Khalish for school, preparing his lunch box, preparing breakfast and a cuppa for me - extra sugar, just the way i like it. You compliment my big hair, my thunder thighs, even my freckled face. Thank you for loving me for who i am and thank you for staying the same, because you know that makes you special :)

I couldnt ask for a better man. I couldnt ask for a better father to my sons. Simply because you're the best catch Abang! I love you with all my heart.

Now, leni; whenever we greet each other (among us fab girls LOL), we take each other's hand - salam, then we kiss/smooch on cheeks. hmmm...

It used to be just salam right? LOL I dont recall my granny smooching her friends' cheeks (now thats an awkward scene). Or to make my point, i dont recall my mom giving a peck on her aerobic class buddies in the eighties (why on earth they call it aerobic class??!! tau tak makne aerobic tu hape? maybe its just ladies in Terengganu LOL)

Ok back to salam, it used to be both hands kan? both of your palms and both of my soft babyish palms LOL And now, its salam and smooches! Its like a package! You meet someone (maybe she's not that close to you pun, but because she's your friend's good friend), you say Hi or Hello or Hello is it me you're looking for? LOL ok ok... and then you salam and place your pout onto her right and left cheeks (and baaamm!! you got her pout on your cheeks too!?). Evolution takes place - instead of a peck on each cheek, its 3pecks now!! Right Left Right - just like kawat! Ada someone told me (lama daah), that it is sunnah.. Hmmm.. call me jahil (i havent google or ask anyone on how true this is) but is it sunat to give 3 pecks or to do anything in 3 times (just like how we do our wudhu')?? Or is it sunat to give peck(s) when we salam? - doesnt matter 1 or 2 or 3 smooches.

How are you ladies? Well hasnt it been a long pause, my crapping that is ^_^ The lazy bug bit me and caused some major almost permanent injuries :P I know! They exist people!! LOL

So yeaa whats up with title?! Am i on diet? No lah! Its just that i feel like talking bout dieting and all. Because just recently, i had this interesting conversation with Miss XYZ, 10y.o

me: go head, grab anything. aunty masak tau yang tuu *pointing*

10 y.o: o really, i had one of that *pointing to something i didnt bake* already.

me: and thats it?! have some more girl *biggest convincing smile*

10 y.o: er... actually i'm on diet la aunty

me: WHAT?! does your mom know?

10 y.o: yeaa sure *suck cheeks*

..pause..

10 y.o: cause you know, if you're a fat kid, you'll be a fat adult. and i dont want to be a fat lady. things wont look good on me *frown*

me: wow! really? gosh i didnt know that *sad face*

10 y.o: no one told you that?! *big eyes*

me: no! every one just passed me food! basically people just told me to eat! (demit!)

10 y.o: *sigh*

Say what you want to say, but is that even true?! That if you were a fat kid, you WILL become a fat adult?? Well i wasnt fat fat *tongue* but i wasnt skinny, duhh! I never diet or constraint myself from food when i was young. I started to worry (not really) about my weight when i was 13!! Call me a late bloomer! Oh well... We were in States and girls at school were saying that you gotta weigh 110lbs max! LOL MAX!! and i was already 115lbs (i think)!!! I said to myself "i am not gonna be a cheerleader or miss teen usa, so blaaaah" *chew fries*. Haha yeaa that was me :p

And at 15 after PMR, the feeling of wanting to look good increased inside me and my first DIET started! LOL I remember my mom was so supportive, bought me lotsa veggies for my sup sayur dinner ^_^ (I love my mom X). I think i did lose some weight because a teacher complimented on my new figure on my first day of form 4 *suke yang amat*. But the dieting didnt last, because i was a sporty person at school, i can not not eat, i wont be able to perform - i was a GD in my school's netball team. I was a fugly one haha - scream, scold, smelly and unattractive! LOL Oh i love my team, i love playing netball! I started playing netball for my school since 14 and stopped 5months before SPM ;( (ikut nasihat mak bapak).

OK back on the track. Then i got fatter and happier during Asasi Sains Hayat (i tend to forget to watch my weight). And Dentistry happened! LOL I lost weight doing my degree, it was hell for the first year; second year wasnt so bad, then third fourth and final year made me love Dentistry and cant wait to become a NICE dentist hihi. O wait, i was kuruus the most during my 3rd and 4th year in UM sebab....... Braces!! O yes! Braces just suck the fun out of you :p Eating is such a pain, you'll wish its always Ramadhan! I cant eat that, cant eat this and ulcers are just everywhere! Urrghhhh i hated Ortho treatment, but i love my orthodontist! Nicest and loveliest Orthodontist out there! hehe *poyo*

Well, returning to my interesting conversation with that 10 y.o girl, i guess its true! Up till now i just cannot say No to food! I eat like a pig *oink oink*! Ask Tahir :p Time dating, Tahir tengok i cam tak makan seminguu kot! LOL I gained a lot of kilos when i was pregnant with Khalish and only managed to lose beberapa je!! But i manage to control my weight now - in my famous life in my head haha. Well i did downsize myself, because running happened! Some time in 2009, I did some brainstorming and i came up with a solution - that if i cant remember to control my food intake, why dont i burn 'em, well not all - i am no Cameron Diaz obviously! I love sports, i played sports in school even though not when i was doing Dentistry (Dentistry can suck the fun out of you too :p). So i started to jog, slow jogs - buntut berat la! Days after days, slow heavy jogs turned to lighter runs ^_^ still slow but lighter, takdela bunyik gedebub gedebub muahahaha

And now in cold cold Dunedin, after giving birth to Umar, I want to start running again (tapi sejuknye mak aih). I miss running, somehow it makes you feel lighter HAHA feel je la, takdela obvious ke'lighter'annya :p Lighter - your head that is :) release tension, haaaaaaa ye!

I should start running again, i really should!

I am mostly on the lazy side to blog *sigh*. Blame post-delivery, shorter sleeps or maybe its just plain me being me...

Ramadhan is here, and today is the third day already. I would like to grab this opportunity to wish all of you a meaningful, fruitful and blessed Ramadhan. Let us look back at ourselves, reflect and istighfar; for all the bad deeds come from us ourselves and the goods are all from Allah swt.

I am missing (and will keep on missing) fasting and tarawikh this year *sad face*, but what i regret most is that i made my husband misses tarawikh at the mosque. He has to be around to manage Khalish, Umar and i... Well, tarawikh at home or at the mosque is still tarawikh right *sigh*. Thanks Abang XX

Every July 12th, my dearest husband celebrates his aging LOL Before falling to sleep last night, i asked him,

"Abang, whos birthday is it tomorrow?"

"Aaawww u thought i dont remember? Of course i do! So tell me, whats the best birthday gift u've got so far?"

"hmm..... birthdays were always a no biggie.."

"Cmon you can tell me.. I know it cant be from me kan? 2009 i got you a blue Ralph Lauren shirt, 2010 i got you a yellow Gap shirt and a feast at Prince Hotel, and this year... well this year... not another shirt heh LOL"

"I think the feast at Prince Hotel was the best cause i got to indulge in as much oysters as i want!"

"What??!!! Thats your best one? Cmon!"

So today, on his birthday, Khalish sang him a birthday song before leaving for school and i promised him that i'll treat him lunch anywhere he wants in the city (alaaa bukan banyak tempat pun bleh pegi - non halals). After his Art/Drawing class (which ends at 12pm), he came back home to fetch me for lunch; and to my surprise he bought me a Medela Freestyle handsfree BP!!! *somersault* He promised me he would buy me one before i pop *big smile*.

Lunching. Tahir chose Little India. We had Tandoori chicken, garlic naan, chicken briyani and mango lassi. While enjoying our food, suddenly the snow came down! I was facing the glass walls and i went "Abang look! Its snowing!!" Tahir dropped his fork and knife and turned, he stood up and went to the wall. He was there for a mere 3minutes (i think). He turned back to me with the joyest (is there such word?) look on his face "this is the best birthday gift sayang!" *i melted* "Aaawww... i am so happy for you! Today is indeed a day to remember!!". He sat down again and told this is the first time he sees a falling snow, way back when he was in states he was too little to remember playing with snow. Well i havent seen a falling snow since 1993!!! Not as long as he but that was also when i was in states.

After lunch, i had to go to the clinic - ada patient! Before he sent me to school (school clinic sama tempat la tu :P), he made a turn and stopped at a local electronic store - Noel Leeming. I was too full, i waited inside the car. 10minutes (or less) later, Tahir came back with an Ipod Touch and its for Khalish!! He said that we have to agree to tell Khalish that this is a gift from baby. He wouldnt want Khalish to feel left out once the baby is out since most of his (and my) attention will be on the new comer, well at least for the first few weeks. How thoughtful! *cloud9*

Hi ~~dolls~~ people! How are you? Hows June so far? Alhamdulillah i am fine, both Khalish and Tahir are also doing great :) There was an aftershock couple of days ago here in south of New Zealand, people here felt it but i was up to something (something good i bet), so i missed it - which is good! Kalau tak, i'll terus get fidgety and ring Khalish's school *sigh*.

Anyway, in the month of June, there are 3 of my family members yang celebrate birthday. They are my mom Hjh Wan Noor Rulhuda Hj Wan Yahya on the ninth, my brother Lukman Hakim Hj Othman on the fourteenth and my ayah Hj Othman Hj Daud on the twentieth of this month :) Being far from home - i called to wish 'em Happy Birthday, posted on their facebook walls and i bought them gifts which i kept with me *nod head*; well i'm not gonna keep 'em to myself, i'm gonna wait till they get here and then pass 'em to each one of 'em :D (Actually, honestly i baru jek beli hadiah utk my mom :P - but i memang niat nak beli utk the other two jugak) LOL

Moving on, my baby in me is 32 weeks today! Time sho flies people *biting nails* yikes! Now, my appointments with my midwife, Debbie is once in every 2 weeks. Baby is growing healthily, Alhamdulillah! And to date, my weight gain is 5-6kg (i literally forgot my pre pregnancy weight!! Zamn it!). This guy (if that ultrasound scan is valid) inside me is one active fella, i tell ya! Kicking, boxing, knocking and jumping sokmo :P

Lagi, i bought baby's first two onesies!! Pumpking Patch is having a massive sale and mommy is going nuts!! I also bought him a black red cardigan (just in case it turns out to be a girl *wink*), cutest thing ever!


I placed this cardi ontop of my tummy for this photo, and the guy (tuan punye baju) kicked hard LOL "ye sayang, its yours!"

Other than that, this should be on top actually LOL - its school break for me!!! A whole 5weeks *somersault*. Just before school ended for this semester, i submitted my PhD thesis *nod head*. My research title is Antimicrobial Peptides And Their In-Vitro Effects Against Dentine Biofilm. This study wont involve orang (so yeaay); it will though, involves bovine extracted incisors LOL Enough bout that - Bosan!!! *wink*

Hmmm.... i guess thats it for now - i am terribly lazy people, with writing and such here.. i blame my pregnancy but heck - its me really! I've had my Heloise for more than 2 years. Bought it in KL - Chloe Boutique, Pavillion. It was my 29th birthday gift (from me). She was one tough chick! Fuss free!! Ima miss her :(

One of the few memories of her (yang i ingat) - the first time i took her out was on my first date with En Tahir, ngeeeh :D and En Tahir said that my Heloise looked like a bag being passed from my granma to my mom and from my mom to me (i know!!! apekejadah!!). I guess her colour made her nampak 'matang' LOL

Assalamualaikum

When you're far away from your mom or your favourite food stalls, you oughta prepare what ever you feel like eating yourself *sigh*. And when you're pregnant, the pressure is even more intense! All the marvelous food parading, playing and rewinding inside of your head - you have to get your butt up and make a stroll through the hallway and into the kitchen and start jamming! Ho yeaaa *giggles*.

Since i've been here in New Zealand, this is my second experiment of makin' Kuih Keria :D Both times were fantastic and tasty - but of course first time buat, i couldnt really do the math on how many kumara do i need to feed just 3 people - so i ended up with a dough (kumara+flour) that is enough to feed a football team! LOL

And today, i woke up feeling like having Kuih Keria. Second time's a charmer eyh? haha, well harini punye Kuih Keria - just perfect for the three of us (well maybe four people because i ate for two *tongue*).

Khalish : Mommy buat donut again?!

Me : Yup! I feel like eating 'em. Do you want some?

Khalish : Not like this one. I want donut with chocolate kat atas dia, macam kat Mesia.

Me : Well thats in Mesia, New Zealand got this type only. (zamn it, i miss J Co!!)

Since i received that email from a friend in Australia - that email with photos of available Balenciaga bags; i cant stop thinking bout it! Zamn it! I love love love their Giant Gold hardware. And colours that are available are Blue Roi which is TDF (picture below in prev post), Noir and Sahara. Covered hardware Balenciaga bags are also stunning, Rose Gold hardware are also stunning and some colours look awesome with Silver hardware. Aaarrghh!!! Sume la stunning!! And i want one!!

Cant stop thinking bout it - i read the 5 Reasons Why Everyone Should Own a Balenciaga Bag @ Purseblog, and boy dont i agree with Amanda *nodding*. I mean... number 1 - the colours!!! That magic colour (or maybe colours) that you feel like Balenciaga chose just for you, and things will all become crystal clear! LOL (ye memang saya sudah mabuk).

Number 2 - Even when theyre girly, theyre still edgy! Ho yes!! Utter edginess *nodding again*. I forgot the other two but the last one is - not every one has one! Well not such a nice reason but still...!!?? LOL Balenciaga bags are so cool that not every one thinks they can be seen carrying it - some would say "theyre too loud" or "they suit a rockstar, which is not me" or maybe "they look silly", What??!! did you say silly? Honeh, lemme tell ya; its not called silly; its called vanity *nodding third time now and pening from too much nodding*.

And so, with out feeling any guilt - ima buy one! Gold Hardware please!!! Well at least for now *giggles*. Hmmm when i buy a bag, i always give myself a reason for it or an excuse (so i wont feel so guilty LOL). And so for this one (kalau jadi laa..), ape ye? Hadiah birthday - check! Hadiah Mother's Day - check even though its not my $$. Hadiah anniversary - but thats in december and Tahir gotta gimme instead of me giving me *sigh*. Well, i'll tell ya when i've come up with one or when the bag is mine hehe *wink*.

So yesterday was Mother's Day (in most countries i believe), how was your celebration? Was there any celebration? Well yours truly didnt celebrate it - celebration yabedabeduu way takla - Tahir blanja makan je *big smile*. But it was nice!! I dressed up - as dressy as i can be - with a baby inside the tummy, you would turn out not even half as good as those without it *tongue*. But i dont have any photo of us on Mother's Day, oh well...

Rewind. I got a card from and made by Khalish on friday (2 days before Mother's Day). He made it at school *big proud smile*. It didnt look super nice or fancy or TDF, but comin' from your own child, it was absolutely adorable to me *cloud 9*. He also baked cookies with his friends - each kid gets 3 pieces and the teacher helped 'em wrap the 3 cookies for their moms (i know - thats so sweet!). The funny thing bout it is, he didnt let me keep it! Tahir reminded him "Arent you suppose to give mommy something? Its Mother's Day", then Khalish passed me the card and wrapped cookies and said "Here mommy, read it ok. Then give it back to me" and i was like "WHY?". "I made it at school, so its mine! If you want one, make yourself one at your school". Tahir and i laughed hard! Kids say the darndest things, dont they?! "Well can i eat the cookies then?" "Ok, you can share it with me". Khalish.. Khalish.. The idea of making someone something just isnt there yet - whatever he makes is his and whatever you make is yours *giggles*.

So i went to school today - cam biasela. Came back home with a surprise - theres a box on my bed!! I screamed with glee *cloud 9*.Terima kasih!! Terima kasih banyak banyak *biggest hug and smile*

I dont have anything particular to write today.. nothing BIG or "bersejarah" lol. So i thought i'd share with you my (one of the most) recent photo.

Right! I bet almost all of you (or maybe all!) have heard of the name Hana Tajima. Have you? You havent??!! Where have you been girl? Dangg!!! Google her now! ..hehe.. Anyway, she's just so purrty(!!) and fashionable and urban and have i mentioned fashionable? ..hehe.. The way she does her scarves is the ultimate fashionable & urban thang (to me!). Its like she just grab a scarf, put in on her head, tuck this bit here, pin that bit there and voila - Fashion police - come check me out!!
